1. Classification of household charging piles
Generally, according to the rated power of charging, it can be divided into 3.5kw and 7KW domestic charging piles. The rated current of 3.5kw charging pile is 16a, and the rated current of 7KW charging pile is 32A.
These two kinds of power charging piles are connected to household 220 volt single-phase electricity.
When a normal car owner buys a car, he will usually give a portable 3.5kw/16a charger or charging pile of the original mode 2 along with the car. Now, some people will give a 7KW charging pile.
2. Cable requirements for household charging pile installation
Household charging piles are normally connected to 220 V single-phase power, but the power and current are different, and the cable and air switch are different. A 3.5kw charger or charging pile is connected to a 4 square cable. Normally, our household electricity is connected to the air conditioner with a 4 square cable. If it is a portable ground free 3.5kw charger, it can be directly plugged into the air conditioner socket for charging. If it is a charging pile, it should be connected to a 4 square cable (if the electric meter is too far away from the parking space, it is recommended to use a 6 square cable). When a 7KW power charging pile or charger is used alone, a group of cables should be connected to at least 6 square wires or more, and the ground wire must be connected. If the wiring distance is far, it is recommended to use 10 square wires. Safety first: the cost of a 10 square meter line and a 6 square meter line is not much different.
In addition, the rated current of the 7KW household charging pile is 32a, and the air switch connected to the line requires 40A or 60A. If the line is over-current or over-voltage, the air switch can play a protective role in time.
